A good next step is asking an AI assistant to generate unit tests, either for existing code or some new code (which leads to test-driven development).

This is both frustrating for companies that would prefer making ML an ordinary, fuss-free value-generating function like software engineering, as well as exciting for vendors who see the opportunity to create buzz around a new category of enterprise software. The new category is often called MLOps. This approach is not novel.

I Also like to spend a little bit of time stretching and doing light exercises, reading or playing with my daughter before I dive into some work. Now that I have 3 kids, I’ve been limited to the gym but it’s a great way to get exercise and keep my mind sharp. . We have a lot of hills in our area so I can really get a good workout.

Before joining Microsoft in 1994 I worked at State Farm Insurance and spent several years in a testing group and later joined a team developing applications against SQL Server for OS/2. We are a bit wiser (you could take that as older) now and we don’t wait until 5 o’clock but we still try everything we can think of to exercise the code.
