At Dynatrace we host most of our Dynatrace SaaS clusters for paying customers as well as trial users in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud. Since we moved to AWS in May 2014 we have had an availability of 99.95%! Sydney, we have a disk write latency problem! The problem didn’t last long or have any impact on our services.
AWS offers a broad set of global, cloud-based services including computing, storage, networking, Internet of Things (IoT), and many others. At Dynatrace, we’re constantly improving our AWS monitoring capabilities. Monitor and understand additional AWS services. Get up to 300 new AWS metrics out of the box. Dynatrace news.

Expanding the AWS Cloud—An AWS Region is coming to South Africa! Today, I am excited to announce our plans to open a new AWS Region in South Africa! AWS is committed to South Africa's transformation. It is our first Region in Africa, and we're shooting to have it ready in the first half of 2020.
Today, I am happy to announce our plans to open a new AWS Region in Italy! The AWS Europe (Milan) Region is the 25th AWS Region that we've announced globally. It's the sixth AWS Region in Europe, joining existing regions in France, Germany, Ireland, the UK, and the new Region that we recently announced in Sweden.
Today, I am happy to announce our plans to open a new AWS Region in Spain in late 2022 or early 2023! Currently, AWS provides 69 Availability Zones across 22 infrastructure regions worldwide, with announced plans for thirteen more Availability Zones and four more Regions in Indonesia, Italy, South Africa, and Spain in the next few years.
The processed data is typically stored as data warehouse tables in AWS S3. The data warehouse is not designed to serve point requests from microservices with low latency. Therefore, we must efficiently move data from the data warehouse to a global, low-latency and highly-reliable key-value store. Dataset of January 1st 2020.
By the summer of 2020, many UI engineers were ready to move to GraphQL. To determine customer impact, we could compare various metrics such as error rates, latencies, and time to render. Watch our Chaos Engineering talk from AWS Reinvent to learn more about Sticky Canaries.
Today, I'm happy to announce that the AWS GovCloud (US-East) Region, our 19th global infrastructure Region, is now available for use by customers in the US. With this launch, AWS now provides 57 Availability Zones, with another 12 zones and four Regions in Bahrain, Cape Town, Hong Kong SAR, and Stockholm expected to come online by 2020.
In April 2017, Amazon Web Services announced that it would launch a new AWS infrastructure region Region in Sweden. Today, I'm happy to announce that the AWS Europe (Stockholm) Region, our 20th Region globally, is now generally available for use by customers.

My personal opinion is that I don't see a widespread need for more capacity given horizontal scaling and servers that can already exceed 1 Tbyte of DRAM; bandwidth is also helpful, but I'd be concerned about the increased latency for adding a hop to more memory. arXiv 2020. On the Cloudburst design teams’ wish list: A running function’s ‘hot’ data should be kept physically nearby for low-latency access. A low-latency autoscaling KVS can serve as both global storage and a DHT-like overlay network. Cloudburst: stateful functions-as-a-service , Sreekanti et al.,
An average of 434 ms is awful, and a small queue size (aqu-sz) indicates it's a problem with the disk and not the workload applied. From these outputs I try to determine if the problem is: - **The workload**: High-latency disk I/O is commonly caused by the workload applied. Note the sdb latencies range from 32 ms to over 2 seconds!
There are services at Netflix that use RDBMS kind of databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL via AWS RDS. Passive instances across regions are also possible, though it is recommended to operate in the same region as the database host in order to keep the change capture latencies low. The destination may be a datastore or an external API.

It was only in 2020, though, that Google shared its concept of Core Web Vitals and how it impacts SEO efforts. This proximity significantly reduces the time it takes for the data to travel from the server to the user, thus reducing latency and improving load times. Bookaway site search. Time to First Byte over time. LCP in seconds.
For applications like communication between AVs, latency–how long it takes to get a response–is more likely to be a bigger limitation than raw bandwidth, and is subject to limits imposed by physics. There are impressive estimates for latency for 5G, but reality has a tendency to be harsh on such predictions.

New metrics landed in Lighthouse v6 in early 2020. In May 2020, Google has announced Core Web Vitals , a set of new user-focused performance metrics, each representing a distinct facet of the user experience. Globally in 2020, according to the IDC, 84.8% Treo provides competitive analysis based on real-world data.
