This is the key problem with every musical blockchain initiative I've ever seen. Proposals whose "blockchain" would need to add 1GB/hour, that sort of thing. The R5a, M5a and T3a instances purportedly will offer a 10% price-to-performance advantage over AWS's other cloud instances.

We spun up a cluster of 100,000 AWS instances multiple times. Google applies bulk discounts after the fact, AWS makes you ask for them ahead of time.
