Because the HTML parser stopped, all network traffic also stopped (because no other HTML tags were parsed to initiate HTTP requests). The number of sync dropped and async rose in June 2016. What we see is that the HTML parser stops when it encounters a SCRIPT tag until that script is downloaded, parsed, and executed.

Running along and all the sudden no traffic occurring at the SQL Server for a few seconds, then stress kicked back in. sqlcmd -E -Stcp:xxxxxxx -Q”select @@VERSION” ping -n 10 xxxxxxxx. Windows TCP Settings. As I cranked up the stress level on a 2TB, 144CPU system I hit some TCP issues.
