I wrote the foreword for Kirstens book Irresistable APIs , and recommend anyone designing an API should read it. A contractual relationship was needed to get access to the private streaming API. My employer will use this as well for evaluation analysis, to find areas to tune to beat competitors, as well as to better understand workload performance to aid design.
